Owner & Founder

Patty Millin is the owner and founder of Spokane’s Best Pet Sitter (formerly Ponderosa Patty Pet Sitting), a locally owned and professionally operated pet sitting company that has proudly served Spokane-area pet owners since 2017. Patty is passionate about providing exceptional pet care and believes that pets thrive best in the comfort, security, and familiarity of their own homes.

Patty holds the designation of Certified Professional Pet Sitter (CPPS) and is trained in Pet First Aid, oral medication administration, ophthalmic (eye) medications, and Sub-Q injections. She is also a member of both Pet Sitters International (PSI) and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS), organizations dedicated to advancing professionalism and continuing education within the pet care industry.

Born in Sandpoint, Idaho, Patty was raised on a ranch in Washington’s beautiful Yakima Valley, where she grew up surrounded by horses, cattle, chickens, cats, and dogs. As the youngest child in the family, many of her closest childhood companions were the animals she helped care for each day. Her love for animals began at an early age and remained a constant throughout her life.

Patty always dreamed of returning to the pine forests and mountain landscapes of North Idaho and Eastern Washington where she was born. In 2021, that dream became reality when she relocated back to the Inland Northwest. Before pursuing her lifelong passion for animal care, Patty built a diverse professional career, working in local politics, office management, banking, real estate, and the insurance industry.

After taking an early retirement in 2014, Patty returned to school and completed Spokane Community College’s full-time Business Entrepreneur Program in 2016. The following year, she founded her pet sitting business with the goal of providing trustworthy, professional, and compassionate pet care services to families throughout the Spokane area. As demand for her services continued to grow, she expanded the business and, in 2022, rebranded as Spokane’s Best Pet Sitter to reflect her vision of building a team of highly qualified professional pet sitters who share her commitment to excellence.

Under Patty’s leadership, Spokane’s Best Pet Sitter has earned an A+ Accredited Business rating with the Better Business Bureau and has received hundreds of Five-Star online reviews from satisfied clients. The company’s reputation has been built on reliability, professionalism, integrity, and personalized care. Patty carefully selects team members who share her dedication to treating every pet as if it were a member of their own family.

Today, all Spokane’s Best Pet Sitter team members are thoroughly vetted, trained, insured, and bonded, providing clients with confidence and peace of mind while they are away. Patty remains committed to maintaining the Gold Standard of pet care that has made Spokane’s Best Pet Sitter one of the area’s most trusted pet care providers.

Patty is the proud mother of three grown sons, grandmother of four grandsons, and great-grandmother of three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. When she’s not working in her pet sitting business, she enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring the beautiful hiking trails around Spokane, Sandpoint, and Coeur d’Alene—especially when accompanied by a few four-legged friends.

In addition to her work with animals, Patty believes strongly in giving back to the community. She supports local charitable organizations, including Pet Savers, the Union Gospel Mission, and other organizations that assist both animals and people in need throughout the Inland Northwest.
